What is Article Marketing?

Article Marketing is a style of advertising in which you can 
write short articles related to your affiliate program or 
business that you are involved in. You submit your articles 
online to be read by online vistors. Each article contains a 
resource box that includes references and contact information 
for your business.

Writing articles is a great way to attract a large and steady 
amount of quality visitors to your website or affiliate capture 
page. It is free to write an article and there are several very 
good article directories that you can submit your article to 
once you have completed it.

Many article directories do not cost anything to submit your 
article to them and by doing so you will create a quality 
“backlink” to your website from the article directory which can 
help your article and your website rank well in the search 
engines.

Within a day or two of writing your article and submitting it 
to the article directories you can expect to begin receiving 
quality visitors to your website. Readers of your article will 
click on your link found in the “resource box” of your article 
to learn more resulting in increase visits to your website and 
profits.

Writing articles on a regular basis can also result in many one 
way links to your website which can increase your ranking in 
the search engines and increase quality traffic to your website.
 When you write an article and submit it to a popular article 
directory, the search engines consider the links found in the

How To Write Articles

Try to write your article within the 500 to 800 word range. 
Some may be shorter, some may be longer. It depends upon the 
subject.

An article may include the following components. The title, an 
article summary, the article content, the resource box

An Article Title – The Title Of Your Article can really make 
the difference in how much traffic from the search engines that 
you attract to your article. The search engines are where 
people head to first when they are searching the internet 
looking for something. Your article can receive alot of traffic 
from the search engines if you create a proper keyword rich 
title. Most search engines focus more on the first 3-5 keywords 
and give lower focus on the rest of the words in your title 
when they are indexing your articles into the search engines.

Research shows that longer article titles produce more views 
per article than short article titles.

Create your title using upper and lower case letters by 
capitalizing only the first letter in every word. However, do 
not write your title in all capital letters and do not use !!!

Your Article Summary – The purpose of your article summary is 
to entice a potential reader to read the rest of your article. 
Be direct, to the point and let your reader know  the benefits 
they will receive if they read your article.

Your article summary should be 2 to 5 sentences long. It should 
speak directly to your reader with the benefits that can be 
gained by reading the information in your article body.

Give your reader some strong reasons why they should continue 
reading your article. Mention in your summary at least 3 to 5 
keywords relating to your article topic. You can find the 
keywords using keyword research tools that I will discuss later.

Don’t Repeat Your Article Title in your summary. Don’t Repeat 
Your Author Name. Don’t Pitch You or Your Business. Don’t 
Include your URL or E-Mail Address. Don’t promote yourself like 
a broadcast. Don’t Create an Article Summary that is more than 
2 paragraphs or 7 sentences in length.

Your Article Content

The following components may make up the content of your 
article.

    * an opening paragraph or 2 paragraphs in which you 
introduce your topic

    * a few paragraphs to describe the points of your topic in 
detail

    * a closing paragraph or conclusion that wraps up your 
article by describing a solution “in general”

You can get ideas for writing your articles by reading through 
your affiliate capture pages that have been supplied to you. 
You can also enter your name and your email address into your 
capture page and get ideas and take point form notes from the 
email responses that you receive over the next few days and 
create an article from the information in your notes.

I don’t suggest that you copy word for word what is in the 
content of those emails. The best way I have found to gather 
information is while reading through each paragragh of content. 
I like to open up a new blank text document in Wordpad and 
create point form or dashed (-) notes from what I read in the 
email or the article or the e book.

You could also search article directories for topics in your 
field and take point form notes from a few different articles 
that you find and create your own articles from your notes.

Articles are not meant to be advertisements that are all hype 
and amazing offers. When you write your article think in terms 
of giving before you can receive. By offering some kind of 
valuable information in your article that will help the reader 
with a challenge they may be having you will in turn receive 
visitors back to your website or affiliate capture page in 
return.

The informative article that you write will position yourself 
as an expert in the field of that topic and will in turm 
attract visitors to your website. This method of giving 
valuable information before you receive can increase profits 
for you dramatically.

You can begin writing “the 1st draft” of your articles by 
opening a new Windows NotePad document. When writing your 
article, try to resist the urge to make it perfect on the first 
attempt of writing.

When I begin to write my article I continue to write what is on 
my mind while ignoring mistakes that would only intereupt the 
roll of ideas and thoughts that come to me while writing. I 
save the proof reading, grammar and spelling corrections etc. 
for later.

If you mention your name throughout your articles you can 
actually become well known in your field as an expert. As you 
continue to write more articles over time people will see your 
name on the internet and they will begin to recognize you as 
someone who gives helpful information and ideas to them.

This is otherwise known as branding and branding your name. You 
may get to the point where people search on the internet for 
your name to find out the latest helpful information that you 
have. You will build trust with your readers and become known 
to them as a valuable resource of information.

Creating links in your article body content will narrow your 
chances of Ezine or website re-publishing. Some article 
directories will not except your article if you do this.
Save the links for your Resource Box that is found at the end 
of your article.

The majority of visitors that find your article will actually 
arrive at your article from the search engines. They were 
searching for the same words that you happened to use in your 
article which allowed your article to show up in there search 
results in the search engines.

There are millions of searches being performed by people who 
are desperately looking for a solution to what they are 
searching for. They will type a few words or “keywords” into 
the search engine and look through mainly the first 1 to 3 
pages of search results found for there search.

At this time we are focusing on article marketing and not 
search engine optimization. However, I do want to mention that 
the secret to getting the maximum amount of traffic from the 
search engines to your article and website is to know what 
keywords people and using those words properly in your content. 
This will allow you to rank well in the search engines and 
receive a great amount of quality visitors.

I will be showing you how to find the most popular keywords for 
any topic that you are thinking about writing in the lessons 
that follow this one.

Until then, Here is a “small” list of some of the most popular 
keywords found from the content in your GDI capture pages. If 
you choose up to 3 of these from this list and use them in your 
articles using the method discussed above this will give you a 
great start in article marketing.

Here are some tips in creating the components of your Article 
Resource Box that can help you maximize this traffic.

Begin your resource box content by mentioning your name. Make 
sure your readers know that they are reading information that 
has been written by you and not a busines in general.

Include your full website url in your link to your website in 
the form of http://Your-Company-Name.com/ so that if your 
article gets replushed by someone they will know where to link..
. the link.

Create 1 to 3 sentences in your resource box that states what 
makes you unique.

Add 1 call to action in your resource box to invoite your 
reader to buy from you or visit your website. Example For more 
information on the best home business to make money on the 
Internet visit http://Your-Company-Name.com/

Provide just enough information in the resource box to get your 
reader interested in finding out more and they will be more apt 
to visit your site. The information in your article body should 
be in the same topic area as the information in your resource 
box.

You want to keep your business professional. Therefore, I
suggest using the forums only to answer any questions that you
may be able to answer for other forum members who have
questions. Visit forums that are in your Niche. You can find
forums like this simply by searching Google for keyphrases like
“How to make money online Forum” or “Work from Home Forum”.
Scroll down the list of Google search results that you have
found until you come across the website addresses that have the
word forum in them or in the Titles of each search engine
result listing.

You will most likely need to join the online discussion forum
as a free member. Once you join as a free member you can begin
by logging into the forum members area to begin browsing and
posting.

A word of caution while using these online help forums. May I
suggest keeping your Global Domains Website link only in your
Forum profiles signature. You can usually edit your profile in
the forum and add your signature with a link back to your
website.

Browse the forum to view other signatures from other forum
members who have posted in the forums. This should give you a
good idea on how to write your forum profile signature.

Once you add your signature to your forum profile, each time
that you reply to someones post, your signature with your
website link is there for the search engines and the world to
see.

These forum signature links can also benefit your website in
the search engines by creating what is called a backlink from
that website where you have left your link to your own website.

These website backlinks can help your website to rank better in
the search engines. In order to build quality backlinks to your
website with this method I would recommend creating the link in
your signature using popular keywords that are related to your
website and that are popular keyphrases that people would be
searching for.

For example you could make a link to your website out of the
phrase, [ How To Make Money Online - Free 7 Day Trial ]

After some time of helping other forum members with there
questions you could find yourself generating a great deal of
traffic for yourself at a very low cost simply from these
online discussion forum signatures in your many forum posts
that you have left online at different online discussion forums
on the internet.

Let’s start with how to use them for keyword research.

If you use quotation marks in a normal Google search “your keyword” this returns the number of pages that have that exact keyword phrase .
If you then type inurl:”your keyword” this returns the number of pages that have that exact keyword phrase in the url.
If you then type intitle:”your keyword” this returns the number of pages that have that exact keyword phrase in the page title meta tag.
Finally, if you type intitle:”your keyword” inurl:”your keyword” this will return the number of pages that have the exact keyword phrase in the page url AND the page title. Remember Google places a higher weighting on pages that have both, so you can see that if you optimize your page correctly, how much competition you have.

The other tool you can use for keyword research is Google’s keyword tool. At the basic level you can enter your keyword and see two things – the approximate number of monthly searches for that keyword and also, the other keywords that Google regards as relevant to that keyword (LSI keywords). These can be used to help optimize your webpage but also, give you additional keyword suggestions. But you can also use the advanced options to good effect. The two key filters you can use are local/global monthly searches and the level of competition. For example, see if you can find a relevant keyword that has more than 5,000 monthly searches and low competition.

The other way to use Google footprints is to find backlinking targets. For example,

“powered by wordpress” your keyword -comments are closed – will show you wordpress blogs that are related to your keyword that DO NOT have comments closed – i.e. a blog where you can currently place a comment with a link back to your site.

The following will help you find directories related to your niche.

And finally, here’s a little gem for you.
site:squidoo.com “YOUR KEYWORD” “add to this list” – this will help you to find Squidoo lenses where you are able to add/suggest your site as a link that is related to the lens. You must be logged into your Squidoo account before you attempt to add a link to these lenses.

By playing around and experimenting with these footprint codes you can find an unlimited amount of sites where you can post your backlinks. However, if you don’t have the time or inclination to do this, there is a ready made solution. Jason Temple (of Link Builders Bible) has produced a fantastic guide called Profile Link Power where he provides more of these footprint codes than you are ever likely to need. This means that for a single website or all of your websites, you can find an unlimited number of high quality backlink targets.

If you are looking to simply be able to view Twitter while you are on Facebook, then the Twitter widget for Facebook is what you are looking for. Simply click the Install Twitter in Facebook button, authenticate and you’re done. Unfortunately, this method isn’t seamless.

The Twitter app for Facebook will automatically post your tweets to your Facebook newsfeed (or your Page).

The downside for this method is that if you choose to post your tweets, it will post all of them. Not a popular method for those that would like to control what Twitter posts show up on Facebook.

A far superior method is by using Selective Tweets for Facebook. This method allows you to post only the tweets that you want to Facebook. All you have to do to post a tweet on Facebook is to end your tweet with #fb. This is far better than the previous two methods as it provides seamless integration as well as content control.

Simply input your Twitter username in the One and only step textbox and click the Save button.

Update: Two new methods of bypassing download limits have been posted. These are more advanced and may require additional software or hardware, but you should check them out when you are done with these easier methods:

RapidShare: NIC tricks and MAC cloning to bypass download limit

Rapidshare traces the users IP address to limit each user to a certain amount of downloading per day. To get around this, you need to show the rapidshare server a different IP address.

Here are some methods for doing this:

1. Short-Out the JavaScript:

1. Goto the page you want to download
2. Select FREE button
3. In the address bar put the following: javascript:alert(c=0)
4. Click OK
5. Click OK to the pop-up box
6. Enter the captcha
7. Download Your File

2. Request a new IP address from your ISP server.

Here’s how to do it in windows:
1. Click Start
2. Click run
3. In the run box type cmd.exe and click OK
4. When the command prompt opens type the following. ENTER after each new line.
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
exit

5. Erase your cookies in whatever browser you are using.
6. Try the rapidshare download again.

Frequently you will be assigned a new IP address when this happens. Sometime you will, sometimes you will not. If you are on a fixed IP address, this method will not work. To be honest, I do not know how to do this in linux/unix/etc. If this works for you, you may want to save the above commands into a batch file, and just run it when you need it.

3. Use a proxy with SwitchProxy and Firefox:

1. Download and install Firefox if you have not already
2. Download and install SwitchProxy
3. Google for free proxies
4. When you hit your download limit, clean your cookies and change your proxy

4. Use an anonymous service:

Running your system through the tor network should in theory work; however, it is difficult to use and setup. Plus, you allow others to run their evil deeds through your system as well by using this system. Anonymizer 2005 is inexpensive, easy to use, but not free. Other pay services would likely work as well.

5. You can use a bookmarklet to stop your wait times:

1. Open IE
2. Right Click On This Link
3. Select Add to Favorites
4. Select Yes to the warning that the bookmark may be unsafe.
5. Name it “RapidShare No Wait”
6. Click on the Links folder (if you want to display it in your IE toolbar)
7. Click OK
8. You may need to close and reopen IE to see it
9. Goto rapidshare and click the bookmarklet when you are forced to wait
